Powerful data but difficult to read
The data collected by the system was realtime and very useful for different groups. The dev leads, project owners, project managers and the executives each looking at the same table but for different reasons.
Issue
A very flat view with lots of clutter for each users and irrelevant noise. Extremely difficult to identify the important and relevant information.
Process
In order to enhance the UX for this very quick project - studied the data and interviewed the sample users (from different user groups) Identified the key info each user group is looking for and created a profile for the users.
Solution
Created some quick easy to implement front end changes, style guides and HTML code using the available data - simplified the view and created some basic UI adjustments for clear visualization.
Information Hierarchy, Filters & Profiles
Cleared the clutter by providing the information in levels - letting the user customize the amount of info they need to see real time. Added filters, hovers and profiles to create different views based on users roles and requirements.
